Manoa cliff trailhead driving directions
The short way: Proceed mauka on Round Top Drive to the vicinity of 4028 Round Top Drive (google this address if you don’t know where round top drive). Look for the Moleka trailhead sign and a small parking lot on the left hand side of the road. This is also the parking area for Manoa Cliff Trailhead, which is on the mauka side of the street.
A longer alternative if the other way closed: To reach the trailhead from Piikoi Street heading mauka from central Honolulu, avoid both H-1 on-ramps and continue straight under the H-1 overpass on Piikoi. Shortly thereafter, cross Wilder Avenue; Piikoi swings to the left. Almost immediately, turn right on to Mott-Smith Drive, continuing until you turn left on Makiki Heights Drive. Continue until you turn right on Tantalus, and continue winding all the way to the top of Tantalus, which becomes Round Top Drive. Continue on Round Top Drive until you reach the small parking area on the right-hand side of the road, just before 4005 Round Top Drive. The Mānoa Cliff Trail (which heads mauka, uphill) shares the same parking lot with the Moleka Trail (which heads makai, downhill).
Getting to the restoration area
Begin by hiking 1.5 mile along the Manoa Cliff Trail, located on the mauka (uphill) side of the parking area. The restoration area lies between its junction with the Pu’u ‘Ohi’a Trail and the end of Manoa Cliff Trail at the Pauoa Flats Trail junction, where there used to be 6’ signboard (the map is missing, but the posts are still there).
